Silvia Tuccimei

Silvia Tuccimei Portrait 3Silvia Tuccimei is an internationally renowned sculptor and painter.

Born in Rome in 1960, Silvia moved to Paris in 1981 to pursue her obsession with the human form.

In Paris, her new environment caused Silvia to re-define her use of line, form and colour in a way that peels away the layers of the “seen world” in order to expose the under-lying fragility of life. For over 25 years Silvia has explored this theme through painting and sculpture and established an international reputation that has her work in constant demand.

Amongst the many highlights of her career, Silvia includes:

            • The installation of an 8-metre sculpture on top of the Chapel of the Salpêtrière in Paris – which went on to win the 1st prize of the city of Saint-German in-Laye, in 1993
            • Having 7 of her monumental sculptures selected by The High Auvergne Museum in the South of France to decorate their major annual event "Way of Art", in 1997.
            • A commission to design and produce the winners trophies for the "Jules Vernes" film festival

Now, for the first time, Silvia Tuccimei's work is available directly to Australian Art Collectors through Gallery V.
